Intimate scenes may appear seamless and romantic on screen, but shooting them can often be one of the most uncomfortable experiences for actors. Veteran actor Annu Kapoor recently opened up about a disturbing incident from a film set, shedding light on the darker side of filming such sequences.
‘He didn’t stop even after the director said cut’
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Annu Kapoor recalled an incident where an actor allegedly lost control during an intimate scene.“During one such scene, the hero got carried away. Even after ‘cut’ was called, he didn’t stop. The actress had to struggle to get away and run off. She was so shaken that she didn’t step out of her room for two days,” he said.While he refrained from naming the actors involved, he added that if the actress were to watch the interview, she would agree with his account.
‘Some actors take advantage of such scenes’
Annu Kapoor further admitted that there have been instances where actors misuse the situation while filming bold scenes.“I have seen actors get aroused during intimate scenes and not stop even when the director says cut. Many take advantage of such situations, but I have never done that,” he said.
Priyanka Chopra had refused a kissing scene
Sharing another experience, Annu Kapoor spoke about working with Priyanka Chopra in 7 Khoon Maaf, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.He revealed that a kissing scene was part of the script, but Priyanka was not comfortable doing it. “Vishal said the scene was written for a reason and couldn’t be removed. Later, his team informed me that she wasn’t comfortable. I didn’t create any issue, but somehow the news spread,” he shared.
‘I ensure my co-actor is comfortable’
Talking about his own approach, Annu Kapoor emphasised professionalism while shooting intimate scenes.“I have always handled such scenes professionally. If an actress feels nervous, I simply ask if she’s okay. I don’t ask anything more because that could make her more uncomfortable,” he said.
