Was Dianna Russini the only one to have come under the microscope? When several others could have probably been involved with coaches? This question was inevitable after the Dianna Russini/Mike Vrabel scandal’s mountain top was reached.

Former NFL scout points to ten female journalists amid Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini story

Former NFL scout who goes by the X handle name of “AngryScoutVet” made some scream-shocking claims. The scout tagged ‘Crissy Froyd’s article for Daily Mail’ and captioned it: “I would set the over/under at 10 current female journalists sleeping with coaches, executives, agents, or players.”Crissy Froyd was fired from USA TODAY after she commented on Dianna Russini. Days after the Mike Vrabel scandal went dry, Crissy Froyd wrote an article for the Daily Mail, sharing some shocking details/made some shocking claims. When Mike Vrabel faced the press conference for the first time after the Dianna Russini story came to light, Crissy Froyd hoped the assembled journalists would ask him:“Were you having an affair with a journalist covering the NFL and your organization?”Why did she hope that? Because she lost her job — in part — for attempting to blow the lid off the NFL’s open secret: “that some female sports reporters, rumored to include some of the most prominent names in the business, trade s*x for stories.” Froyd further said that she did not care what two consenting adults did in their private lives, but she did care if the industry she worked for was tainted by corruption.

Female journalists reportedly trade relationships for access

The Vrabel/Russini scandal creates a culture picture that pressures female journalists to trade s*xual relationships with powerful male NFL employees in exchange for access and advancement. It also casts suspicion over journalists and NFL teams that do things the right way. It’s why Crissy Froyd tweeted about Dianna Russini’s resignation from The Athletic in the first place. But then it reportedly got her fired from USA TODAY.Froyd further said that several journalists reached out to her after she was fired, expressing their support. She suspects they’d appreciate that someone was finally saying what they felt they couldn’t. Crissy Froyd further reiterated, “some female sports reporters and powerful male team employees trade s*x for stories and that is a corruption that must be exposed.”

Crissy Froyd reportedly knew about Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel’s alleged affair

Around 2020, a well-known national sports reporter told Crissy Froyd that Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini were “carrying on a secret relationship.” She was also told that by “at least half a dozen female reporters that they have had s*x with NFL staff, and in one case, a prominent NFL head coach, while they were covering the team.” Over her career, the number of stories has been in the 10s, involving some of the most prominent female sports reporters and NFL coaches in the country. Crissy Froyd further said that the conversations between the reporter and coach probably start with an invitation to a baseball game, but then, at the last minute, “he offers to meet up beforehand at his hotel room.”At times, the coach would comment on what a journalist wore the last time they met and request that the journalist wear something similar the next time they’re together.
