Kalyani Priyadarshan, Priyadarshan’s daughter, is rumored for Bollywood debut with Ranveer Singh in zombie film ‘Pralay’. She told Hindustan Times good scripts always find her across languages, she’s greedy for stories, and Hindi offers persist post-Lokah. Language barriers don’t exist—emotion is universal.

Director Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan is reportedly set for her Bollywood entry opposite Ranveer Singh in ‘Pralay’. In the midst of the speculation, she shared that quality scripts “have always come my way” no matter the language, while discussing the Hindi film proposals landing at her doorstep.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Kalyani said, “I don’t know how to explain this, but good stories have always found me, whatever the language is. I’ve always said that I’m a very greedy actor when it comes to scripts. If there’s a good script, whichever language it is in, whether it’s Marathi, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam, I want it. Obviously, I’m one person and I can’t shoot 10 movies at the same time and there are 100 great scripts out there. But this is where I’m at.”

Kalyani Priyadarshan Hindi cinema interest

Kalyani also shared her keen interest in Hindi cinema projects, stressing that her focus remains on compelling scripts and compelling narratives above all. She stressed that language has never posed an obstacle for her in cinema or narrative crafting. The actress revealed that she has always believed that the one thing that is truly universal is emotion.

Hindi offers post ‘Lokah’

Kalyani noted she can’t confirm if Hindi offers increased or decreased post-Lokah, since opportunities were always present. She explained her dedication to fully committing her time to each film.

About ‘Pralay’ zombie film

‘Pralay’ is Bollywood’s first real zombie apocalypse film, as per the reports. It differs from 2013’s Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Go Goa Gone’, which had fun, modern zombies. Ranveer’s movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world with a chaotic, dystopian Mumbai.
