AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi: Traffic advisory, diversions and routes to avoid |
The AI Impact Summit 2026 is currently being held at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the five-day event from February 16 to 20, will witness enhanced security measures and increased VIP movement across several central corridors of the capital. For this, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory to warn commuters which routes to take and which ones to avoid.

The summit has prompted authorities to roll out detailed mobility measures aimed at managing congestion and maintaining uninterrupted access around the venue and adjoining corridors. The Delhi Traffic Police shared on X, “Traffic Advisory In view of AI Impact Summit-2026 to be held from 16 Feb, 2026 to 20 Feb, 2026, certain traffic restrictions will be effective in Delhi. Which routes will be impacted?
Traffic flow is likely to slow down in and around the diplomatic enclave and central administrative zones due to VIP movement. According to the advisory, the following stretches may witness congestion:
- Mathura Road (from Subramanian Bharti Marg to Lodhi Road Flyover)
- Akbar Road
- Janpath
- Shanti Path
- Satya Marg
- Africa Avenue
- APJ Abdul Kalam Road
- Tilak Marg
- Bhagwan Das Road
These corridors connect key government buildings, embassies and event venues, making them especially sensitive during international summits. In a post shared on X, the PTI shared, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (@MIB_India) posts: “Traffic Advisory for 16th February! Delegates attending #IndiaAllImpactSummit2026 at Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan are advised to use public transport due to limited parking and revised gate access. Please plan your arrival as per the updated entry protocols and cooperate with security personnel for smooth conduct of the event.“

Route plan for airport and railway commuters
While no blanket restrictions have been imposed on airport or railway access, authorities have recommended specific corridors to avoid delays.Passengers travelling to the Indira Gandhi International Airport are advised to use NH-48 and the Sector-22 Dwarka Tunnel to bypass central congestion.Those heading to major railway hubs — including New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station — have been asked to prefer the Ring Road, Ashram Chowk and Vande Mataram Marg corridors. Access to Bharat Mandapam
The summit is being hosted at Bharat Mandapam, the newly developed international exhibition and convention centre within the Pragati Maidan complex. Considering the parking space constraints in the vicinity of the venue, it is advised that people make use of the Delhi Metro, which will run as per schedule. The nearest metro station to the venue is Pragati Maidan, and people can use Gate 10 to access Bharat Mandapam easily. For people using their own vehicles, parking spaces have been allocated at the Delhi Zoo, National Stadium, and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Shuttle services will be provided between these parking spots and the summit venue to ensure smooth flow of delegates.
Additional arrangements
Officials have also coordinated with telecom operators to optimise mobile network coverage around Bharat Mandapam during the event to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for participants and media. As New Delhi hosts one of its most significant technology summits of the year, authorities have emphasised early travel planning, adherence to advisories and cooperation with traffic personnel to minimise inconvenience during the five-day event.
