BHOPAL: A 65-year-old man died after suffering a suspected heart attack while being taken to the hospital in a loader vehicle after an ambulance allegedly failed to reach in time in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district.The incident occurred near Barkonha village under Rajnagar police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Jagdish Vishwakarma (65), a resident of Talgaon village. He was travelling to Chhatarpur with his son Santosh Vishwakarma when he complained of severe chest pain and breathing difficulty.According to the family, Santosh immediately called for an ambulance, but none arrived. With his father’s condition deteriorating, he arranged for a loader vehicle to rush him to hospital.However, the vehicle was caught in a traffic jam on the way. A video that has surfaced shows Santosh attempting to administer CPR to his father inside the moving vehicle. Despite repeated efforts to revive him, Jagdish did not respond.On reaching the district hospital, Santosh carried his father inside, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Doctor who was on duty said a medical team examined the patient immediately, but he was dead.Doctors said the preliminary cause appears to be a heart attack, though confirmation would require a postmortem. The family chose not to conduct a postmortem and took the body home. Jagdish is survived by five children — four daughters and a son. Two daughters are married, while three are unmarried. Santosh is the only son in the family.
