Lioness Neerja gives birth to 4 cubs at Etawah safari park | Kanpur News

KANPUR: A lioness at UP’s Etawah Safari Park gave birth to four cubs on Sunday. The cubs were born to Asiatic lion pair Neerja and Kanha.Safari director Anil Kumar Patel said all the cubs were healthy and Neerja was caring for them well. The park management released a video showing Neerja sitting lovingly with her cubs, who were seen climbing over her. “Around 8.25pm, Neerja gave birth to the first cub followed by three more cubs at 9.07pm, 9.43pm, and 9.59pm,” Patel said. As per the Safari administration, Neerja has given birth to five cubs at Etawah Safari Park in the past- two from the first litter and three from the second. After the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareilly confirmed Neerja’s pregnancy, she was transferred to the breeding centre for special care by a team of doctors and keepers.
