Arvid Lindblad lights up India with RB8 run at Red Bull Moto Jam | Racing News
Racing Bulls Formula One driver Arvid Lindblad participated in the second edition of Red Bull Moto Jam, a one-of-a-kind motorsport spectacle that offered Indian fans an immersive live experience, including the chance to see Lindblad drive an F1 car up close.Lindblad, the third-ever F1 driver of Indian heritage, returned to India just a week before his Formula One debut to perform in front of fans at the India Expo Centre in Noida, Delhi NCR — a region that previously hosted three Formula One Grands Prix at the Buddh International Circuit. He drove Sebastian Vettel’s 2012 World Championship-winning RB8, presented in VCARB livery.
As part of the Red Bull Moto Jam celebrations, the VCARB-branded RB8 driven by Lindblad marked the festival of Holi on March 3. Continuing a tradition from previous Red Bull showruns in India, the car released coloured powder (gulal) into the air in tribute to the festival of colours.Ahead of the main event, former Formula One driver Karun Chandhok took the VCARB-branded RB8 to the Buddh International Circuit for a showcase run — the first time in 13 years that an F1 car had run at the venue. The motorsport festival also featured multiple disciplines, with several Red Bull athletes showcasing their skills. Lebanese drifting champion Abdo Feghali was in attendance alongside stunt rider Aras Gibieza. Global stunt athlete Abdulrahman AlRaeesi also performed, while Roman Karymov led the motocross action. Freestyle motocross riders Sebastian Westberg and Greg Rowbottom added to the spectacle. The evening was supported by partners including Harrier.EV, OnePlus, Duolingo English Test, Fastrack, Zepto, Confluent, Bisleri, BookMyShow, Dream Set Go, ExpoInn and Laqshya Media Group.Arvid Lindblad said: “It was such a unique opportunity to be part of the Red Bull Moto Jam event and be able to drive a F1 car in India. Having the chance to be behind the wheel in this country, whose culture truly shaped me during my childhood, was really special. From kicking off the weekend by visiting the historical India Gate in Delhi to seeing all the fans cheering for me during the exhibition, it was such a nice moment. I hope they had a great time. A huge thank you to everyone involved; there couldn’t have been a better way to kick off my F1 season before going to Melbourne next week.”
