NEW DELHI: A fire broke out in the auditorium of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi’s Dwarka on Sunday, according to a Delhi Fire Services official.The blaze was reported at 10:42 am on the university’s Sector-16 campus.
“Two water tenders, three water bowsers, one skylift and one quick response vehicle were rushed to the spot. Teams doused the flames by 11.20 am. Cooling operations were still in progress,” he added.No injuries have been reported so far, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.Earlier, at least four people were killed in a deadly blaze that broke out at a four-storey building in Tigri Extension of Delhi’s Sangam Vihar, police confirmed on Sunday.Authorities had initially said that at least two others were injured in the fire.Fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.(With agency inputs)
