'Dhurandhar 2' runtime and rating leak: Fake censor certificate goes VIRAL ahead of March 19 release - Reports
Excitement and confusion collide as buzz grows for Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge.’ A recently leaked CBFC certificate is causing a stir, as it actually relates to the original film’s TV release instead of the sequel. With filming still in progress and no submission for certification yet, fans are left in the dark.

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming sequel, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge,’ has not been certified by India’s Central Board of Film Certification, even though a film certificate is circulating online. According to India Today, the certificate linked to ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is actually for the television broadcast of the first film, not the sequel. The report further stated that the certification shared on social media pertains to an edited TV version of the original film, with a different rating and runtime. The sequel is still being shot and has yet to be submitted to the censor board ahead of its March 19 release.

Certification and runtime confusion explained

Many people online have pointed to a CBFC certificate that shows a U/A 16+ rating and a long runtime. The India Today reported that the certificate, now visible on the board’s website, pertains to the television premiere of ‘Dhurandhar,’ the original film released in December 2025. That version changed the rating from A to U/A for TV viewers and trimmed the broadcast version slightly. The original ‘Dhurandhar’ was initially certified with a runtime of 214 minutes and an A rating. After objections from community groups, the team made edits. The revised version carried a runtime of 208 minutes in CBFC records. For television airing, the runtime was shortened again, and certain expletives were muted. The certificate that sparked confusion applies to that TV cut, not the sequel.

Status of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’

The report further added that the project, titled ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge,’ is still in production. The team has continued filming into February and has not yet sent the film to the CBFC for certification. The viral certificate does not reflect the sequel’s final rating or confirmed runtime.Earlier, the teaser for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ received an A certificate from the censor board for theatrical exhibition. That clearance applied only to the promotional clip, not the full feature film. Official details about the sequel’s rating and runtime are expected closer to its theatrical release.
