NEW DELHI: A Delhi-based terror module inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS) was dismantled, with two operatives arrested for allegedly planning a massive IED blast in the capital. The suspects, reportedly in the advanced stages of executing their plan, were apprehended in a joint operation by intelligence agencies and the special cell.The arrested men had trained for Fidayeen (suicide) attacks, cops said.Arms and ammunition were seized, sources said. One of the suspects has been identified as Adnan.“The operation was carried out by a team led by Additional Commissioner Pramod Kushwaha and ACP Lalit Mohan Negi,” a senior officer said.Sources indicated that ISIS-inspired modules are reportedly being run with backing from Pakistan’s ISI, which allegedly uses the Islamic State and ISP’s name as cover.The operation is ongoing, with authorities aiming to uncover the full network and identify other members of the module.Interrogation of the arrested operatives is underway, with agencies working to unravel the full extent of their plans and any potential links to global terror networks.Further details are awaited, but the development is being seen as a significant relief for security agencies and the general public.
