NEW DELHI: The Lawrence Bishnoi group has claimed responsibility for the murder of an individual identified as Bhanu Rana in California, USA. Rana, sources said, was a gangster from Karnal, Haryana. He was considered a long-time associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang but seems to have parted ways last year.Rana is an accused in several cases of murder, extortion, the Arms Act, and other serious crimes in Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi. He was apprehended in the United States in November 2025. Indian agencies were in the process of seeking his extradition to India.His name had also surfaced during the investigation of a grenade attack in Punjab. A confirmation from California police about the murder is awaited.The Lawrence Bishnoi group claimed the murder through a social media post.
The post, written in a mix of Hindi and Punjabi, asserts that the killing was carried out by “Sarpanch Europe,” Sahil Duhan from Hisar, and members of the Lawrence Bishnoi group.The author of the post labeled Rana a “traitor” and claimed they had predicted his death in a post exactly one year ago. The message further issued a chilling warning, stating that Lawrence Bishnoi has ordered the elimination of anyone working against the country, regardless of where they hide globally.The message warns that the rivals will be buried “ten feet deep” just like Bhanu Rana, such that his body will never be recovered. In a notable internal development within the gang’s dynamics, the post also disavowed Goldy Dhillon, stating he no longer has any connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi group.The post alleges that Dhillon has turned into a drug trafficker and an informant, advising others to stay away from him. The message concludes with a list of various affiliated groups and individuals spanning international locations, including Australia and Spain, highlighting the sprawling and dangerous nature of this criminal network’s reach.
