Lokesh urges cadre to ensure massive Mahanadu participation | Vijayawada News
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party national working president and IT minister Nara Lokesh on Sunday called upon party leaders and cadre to work collectively to make the upcoming Mahanadu a grand success across the state. Addressing 1,875 cluster in-charges in virtual mode on preparations for the Mahanadu scheduled on May 27 and 28, Lokesh said the event should be conducted in a festive atmosphere while strengthening the party’s organisational network at the grassroots level.Lokesh said Mahanadu was not merely a party programme but a reflection of the TDP’s strength, sacrifices, discipline and organisational spirit. He said the party was founded for the progress of the Telugu people and welfare of the Telugu community.Recalling the party’s journey, he said the Mahanadu had to be organised virtually during the Covid period, while the Ongole Mahanadu later became a grand success ahead of the elections that resulted in a decisive victory for the allianceHe said this year’s programme would be organised with the theme “Stree Shakti Mahanadu” to encourage greater participation of women in party activities.Lokesh said the party had initially planned to organise the event on a grand scale in Nellore, but in view of international circumstances and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for energy conservation measures, the party decided to hold the event in a hybrid format. He said Politnuro members, national and state committee members would participate from the party central office at Mangalagiri, while the programme would be held virtually at 1,875 cluster centres across the state. Lokesh directed cluster in-charges to ensure participation of members, booth in-charges, village committee leaders, affiliated wings and grassroots cadre.Stating that the cluster system was introduced to strengthen the organisation, Lokesh described the Mahanadu as a major opportunity to build coordination and connections among party workers. He said the party would provide all necessary material and technical support, including LED screens and audio systems, while attendance would be registered through the My TDP app.Lokesh urged leaders to coordinate with MLAs and constituency in-charges and ensure massive participation of women and party workers. Lokesh also stressed that only those actively working for the party were being given importance in nominated posts and organisational responsibilities. He said the alliance govt would soon complete two years in office and local body elections were approaching, making it essential for leaders and cadre to reconnect with people at the grassroots level.MPs, MLAs, MLCs, constituency in-charges, zonal coordinators and party functionaries participated in the meeting.
