Bhubaneswar: Teacher job aspirants held a dharna here on Monday, demanding filling of all vacant teaching positions in high schools and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas.Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) last year notified recruitment for over 15,000 vacancies for elementary teachers, MLE teachers, special educator teachers, and so on, but the process is yet to be initiated.Apart from this, the agitators said close to 7,290 teaching posts in high schools were vacant for long without any recruitment notification. “Besides, the appointment of leave training reserve (LTR) teachers is far from complete. There are thousands of eligible youths who are waiting for these teaching jobs, but the govt is delaying recruitment,” said Ashok Panigrahy, an aspirant.Two days back, Congress leader Srikant Jena also wrote to CM Mohan Charan Majhi over the teacher recruitment process, urging his intervention.
