BHOPAL: The son of a village sarpanch was hacked to death with a sword and an axe in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district on Sunday morning allegedly over a minor dispute about paking two-wheehers. After the assault, the accused allegedly filmed the incident on a mobile phone till the victim collapsed. Three others, including the sarpanch, were also injured in the attack in the Mayapur police station area.The deceased was identified as Yudhishthir Yadav, son of Muhasa gram panchayat sarpanch Rajendra Singh Yadav (62). Police said a video of the assault surfaced.

According to Rajendra Singh Yadav, he and his son went around 8.30 am to Purva Simla village to hire labourers. They parked their motorcycle near a house and spoke to villagers when an argument began. The sarpanch alleged that Dharmendra Yadav arrived on a tractor and objected to the motorcycle being parked on the road. When they protested, he allegedly drove the tractor over the bike, damaging it. The dispute then turned violent.Police said Dharmendra called his family members to the spot. His father, Captain Yadav, allegedly arrived armed with a sword and an axe. During the clash, Yudhishthir was attacked repeatedly and suffered serious injuries to his chest, stomach and arms. He fell on the ground soon after.The attackers also assaulted Rajendra Singh Yadav and two others, Ajay Pal Yadav and Gandharva Yadav, who tried to intervene. All three sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. Yudhishthir was taken to the govt hospital in Khaniadhana, where doctors declared him dead. The other injured were undergoing treatment.Family members said there was tension over land in the village. A govt electricity powerhouse was proposed in the area, and the accused were allegedly in possession of a piece of govt land cleared for the project. They suspected the attack was linked to this dispute.
