Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ goes past Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 to become 4th biggest grosser in North America

Pawan Kalyan struck the North American box office with a thunderbolt when his latest film They Call Him OG with USD 3.13 million took the biggest premiere day collection beating Lokesh Kanagraj and Rajinikanth Coolie with USD 3.04million.. The film directed by Sujeeth and also featuring Emraan Hashmi hasn’t stopped his reign at the box office as the film has continued it’s magic on day 1 and day 2 as well. The film on day 1 earned USD 540K, taking the day 1 total including premieres to USD 3.67 million. And on day 2 till early evening the collection has crossed USD 435K with final numbers coming in only after a few hours, but with current numbers the film has crossed USD 4.1 million collection mark. And with advance sales for day 3 already hitting USD 195K, the total three day collection of the film is inching towards the USD 4.2 million mark.

With just these numbers the film has already become the 4th biggest Indian grosser of the year in the circuit beating Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani’s War 2 which till its second weekend had earned USD 4.05 million. The top three spots are held by Rajinkanth’s Coolie, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara. While They Call Him OG is running riot at the box office, the film is yet to break even. The film’s rights were picked up for Rs 12 crore years ago and thanks to delay the cost has risen exponentially. The response to the film is in stark contrast to his last film Hari Hara Veer Mallu which had folded up in North America with just a little over USD 1 million collection.
