Railways to run 58 special trains to clear post-Holi rush
In anticipation of the bustling travel rush following Holi celebrations, Indian Railways is launching more than 58 special trains throughout the East Central Railway zone beginning March 5. This initiative is designed to ease the travel experience for passengers, with popular routes such as Patna to New Delhi and Danapur to Anand Vihar benefiting from increased train frequencies.

Patna: The railways will operate at least 58 special trains to clear the post-Holi rush from different stations under the East Central Railway (ECR) zone from March 5 onwards. These trains will run on priority to ensure passengers reach their destinations without hassles.ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra said the Danapur–Anand Vihar special will run on March 8, while the Patna–Puri special will operate from March 5 to 26 to manage the heavy rush. Similarly, the Danapur–Bengaluru special will run daily till March 31, and the Patna–Howrah special will operate every Sunday from March 8 to 29.The Patna–New Delhi special will run daily from March 5 to 15, while the Danapur–Charlapalli special will operate every Thursday from March 5 to 26. The Patna–Charlapalli special will run every Monday and Wednesday from March 9 to 30. He added that the Danapur–Pune special will run on March 4 and 8.In addition, the Danapur–Lokmanya Tilak Mumbai special will run daily till March 9, and another Danapur–Pune special will operate daily till March 10. The Patna–Puri special will run daily till March 10, the CPRO added. The Patna–Ahmedabad special will run every Friday till March 27.Likewise, Patna–Ambedkar Nagar special, Danapur–Ferozpur special, Patna–Amritsar special, Rajgir–Patna special, Danapur–Kota special, Sheikhpura–New Delhi special, Buxar–Tata special, Raxaul–Udhna special, Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak Mumbai special, Saharsa–Lokmanya Tilak Mumbai special, Darbhanga–New Delhi special, Barauni–New Delhi special, Darbhanga–Ahmedabad special, Saharsa–Jabalpur special, Madhubani–Kolkata special, Jayanagar–Amritsar special, Barauni–Chennai special, Muzaffarpur–Hubli special and several others will be operated to efficiently handle the post-Holi rush, sources said.
