Sepahijala SP among 6 cops injured in attack by Motha activits in Tripura | Guwahati News
Agartala: At least six police personnel, including SP (Sepahijala) Bijoy Debbarma, sustained injuries during a violent confrontation with supporters of Tipra Motha Party at Lampraikami in Takarjala on Friday.The situation escalated when police attempted to disperse Motha supporters who had assembled at BJP candidate Nirmal Debbarma’s house, reportedly with the intent to vandalise the property.The clash erupted after a large number of supporters converged on the candidate’s residence, reacting to claims that BJP workers had threatened and restrained their associates.Upon receiving reports of the unrest, a police team, led by the SP, was dispatched to the scene, where they faced a violent surge from Motha activists.District magistrate Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal said a crowd had surrounded the BJP candidate’s house. “I’ve was informed that some police personnel, including the SP of Sepahijala, were injured during the incident. Howver, I’m not aware of any gunfire. I’m will visit the location to help restore order,” he added.Additional security forces have been rushed to the location to help manage the situation.
