Shantanu Maheshwari claims Sanjay Leela Bhansali is very 'PICKY': 'His sarcasm also..'

Shantanu Maheshwari recently opened up about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the Alia Bhatt-starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. In a recent interview, the young actor called the filmmaker ‘picky’. He also opened up about if he got scolded by the filmmaker. Here’s what the actor has to say about SLB.

In an interview with India.com, Shantanu was asked if Sanjay Leela Bhansali ever shouted at him on the sets of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, since the filmmaker is known for his strict nature.The actor shared that he doesn’t know who says that the filmmaker is strict; he added, “But the right word is ‘passionate.'” The actor further said that when someone is passionate about something, then the person is “very particular” about the work.He added that when the person understands this, they will understand SLB better. The actor further stated that after he understood the same, he could feel his passion for his craft. He said, “That’s the reason he is very picky about what he does.”The actor further mentioned that, along with focusing on the actor or the actress in the frame, SLB works on the entire frame. He said, “That’s the detailing he goes into.”

Shantanu Maheshwari says Sanjay Leela Bhansali is ‘very witty’

In the same interview, Shantanu Maheshwari is full of wit. He said, “Another thing I would like to add is that he is very witty, and his sarcasm bhi kaafi amazing hai (his sarcasm is also quite amazing).”He called himself lucky, as he never got any scoldings from the filmmaker. He said, “Honestly, I have been lucky ki mujhe kabhi daant nahi padi hai unse.” He concluded by repeating the fact that if someone would understand his passion, the person can definitely understand him.

About ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film featured Alia Bhatt in the titular role. It also starred Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Jim Sarbh, and Ajay Devgn. It was released in theaters on February 25, 2022.
