Bone found in panipuri at Ahmedabad stall

Ahmedabad: A panipuri stall outside the Ranip bus terminal was removed by civic authorities on Saturday after a woman found a bone in her panipuri on Friday, and a video of the incident went viral. The woman was eating panipuri with her mother at the Krishna Bhel Pakodi stall, located in front of the Ranip bus terminal, on Friday night, when she discovered the bone. When the customers complained, the vendor reportedly dismissed the object as a piece of wood. The woman then recorded a video of the incident and posted it on social media, prompting the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) health department to inspect the stall on Saturday afternoon. In the viral video, the woman recounted the sequence of events. “There is a panipuri stall, named Krishna Bhel Pakodi, in front of the Ranip bus stand. We came to eat panipuri at 6.30pm. In the first panipuri, we found hair, and we let it go. But the last panipuri had a bone. When we showed it to the vendors, they insisted it was wood. We showed it to four other customers, and they agreed it was a bone. When the vendors tried to cut it, they realized it was indeed a bone and apologized, saying it might have accidentally fallen into the panipuri. I have never eaten non-veg in my life, so who is responsible for the bone in our panipuri? We complained, but nothing happened, and now they just say sorry,” she said.An AMC official said, “A video showing a woman allegedly finding a bone in panipuri from a stall in Ranip went viral. But the woman and her mother declined to pursue the matter further. The health department inspected the stall and found that it was operating in unsanitary conditions. The stall owner, Dinesh Teli, was fined Rs 10,000. The estate department also removed the stall for illegally occupying the road.”
