US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he does not dwell on threats despite facing multiple alleged attempts, including a recent shooting incident near the White House.During a media interaction, a reporter referred to the latest shooting incident involving Trump during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and asked how he continues to carry out his duties without constantly thinking about the threats.Responding to the question, Trump said, “I can’t think about it because if I thought about it a lot, you know, I wouldn’t be a very good President.”“I wouldn’t be here, probably. I’d be up in some room with a locked door and say, just leave me alone,” he added. Trump described public office as “a dangerous business” and said consequential leaders often face greater risks.“When you are a consequential President, your life is in grave danger,” he said, calling political violence “a very sad fact of life.”The latest scare comes amid heightened security concerns surrounding Trump, who has faced multiple alleged threats in recent months.

In February 2026, a man carrying a gas can and shotgun was fatally shot by Secret Service agents after crashing his vehicle into the security perimeter of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.As per an Associated Press report, Trump was in Washington at the time. Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin from North Carolina.On April 25, 2026, another heavily armed man carrying a handgun, shotgun and knives reportedly breached security near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC. Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other officials were safely evacuated from the venue.A month later, on May 24, 2026, a gunman opened fire near a White House security checkpoint at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, DC.Secret Service agents returned fire, fatally shooting the suspect, while a bystander was injured during the incident.
