Helmed by director Nelson Dilipkumar and backed by Sun Pictures, the film has already wrapped up major shooting schedules across Goa, Kerala, and Chennai. Interestingly, Rajinikanth and Hrithik Roshan have already appeared together in a film before. Hrithik Roshan made his child actor debut in the 1986 Hindi film ‘Bhagwaan Dada’, which starred Rajinikanth in the lead role. Hrithik Roshan played Rajinikanth’s foster son in the movie, and the actor has often spoken warmly about that experience in interviews. Meanwhile, work on ‘Jailer 2’ is said to be nearing completion, with only patchwork scenes left to be filmed. Though the film was initially expected to be released in August, reports now suggest that the makers may target a September release around the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival season.
