Man, brother attacked with hammer and rods over court testimony, FIR against 8 | Gurgaon News
Gurgaon: A man and his brother were allegedly assaulted with a hammer, iron pipes and sticks after he agreed to testify against one of the accused in a local court. An FIR was registered against eight men in the matter.Rahul (25), a carpenter and a resident of Bhagatwada in Sohna, said as soon as he reached the court gates, Komal alias Sonu, Kuldeep and another man allegedly blocked his way and threatened to kill him if he deposed in the case. Scared, he returned home without attending the proceedings.Later in the day, Rahul alleged that Kuldeep and his family members abused him outside his house. When his younger brother Kamal (21), a first-year student, tried to intervene, eight people, including Ramesh, Kuldeep, Komal, Hariom, Rakesh and Sarita, allegedly attacked the duo with a hammer, iron pipes and sticks sand threatened to kill them.Both Rahul and Kamal were admitted to a govt hospital. While Kamal sustained two injuries, Rahul sustained four injuries, including a fractured leg and was referred to Gurgaon Civil Hospital.Police said Rahul submitted a written complaint on April 10 after being declared fit for giving a statement by doctors.Following his complaint, a case was registered on April 13 at Sohna city police station under BNS sections 190 ( unlawful assembly), 191(2) (rioting), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 117(1) (causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation).According to police, the accused had also attacked Rahul in Jan 2025, and a separate case is already ongoing in the matter.Rahul’s mother told TOI that her son was friends with Komal and a few others living nearby. “They held a grudge and attacked him brutally on Jan 25 last year, leaving him unconscious near GD Goenka School in Sohna. On April 8, he was going for the hearing in that case when he was again attacked,” she said.She added that Rahul, who sustained multiple injuries, was eventually referred to PGI Rohtak from the Gurgaon Civil Hospital. “Since Rohtak is far, we are shifting him to a private hospital here,” she said.
