As per reports, District Attorney David Lasee wrote, “While the standard for arrest is probable cause, when the District Attorney’s Office makes a decision to issue criminal charge, it is bound to apply a higher standard. That is, whether there is admissible evidence that rises to the level of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.”For now, the existing evidence reportedly does not meet that level as the D.A.’s office has requested for more information from the police department.While Josh Jacobs has stayed away from making any statements, his attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld, and Clarence Duchac said, “We are extremely pleased that Josh has been released from custody and that no criminal charges have been filed against him. As we previously stated, we encourage everyone to keep an open mind while the matter is fully reviewed.
