Hyderabad: Union minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday alleged that chief minister A Revanth Reddy had no trust in govt employees. Addressing a press conference, he strongly reacted to the allegations made by Congress and BRS that the Centre was conspiring through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He said the CM’s remarks that the Centre was trying to remove voters belonging to a particular religion were irresponsible and provocative. He criticised Revanth for making statements that could incite people while holding the constitutional post of chief minister.Clarifying the SIR process, the Union minister said it was being conducted entirely under the supervision of state govt employees and not by the Central govt. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot be present at every polling booth,” he remarked. He also pointed out that apart from BLOs, political parties would have their appointed BLAs at polling stations, and questioned how any conspiracy could take place in such a system.Kishan said Congress was making unnecessary allegations. “When Congress wins in Kerala after the SIR process, they have no problem with it. When the BJP wins in West Bengal or loses in Tamil Nadu, Congress still does not question the exercise. This is double standards,” he said. The Union minister asserted that the SIR exercise was being carried out solely to cleanse and streamline the voter list and ensure greater transparency in the electoral process. He criticised the Revanth Reddy govt, alleging that it was shifting its responsibility onto officials and the Central govt. He said the Telangana govt had failed in paddy procurement and was unable to purchase farmers’ produce despite mounting pressure. He asserted that every rupee required for paddy procurement was being provided by the Central govt and questioned why the state govt was still failing to procure grain from farmers. He demanded that the govt explain the situation to farmers. The Union minister also alleged that the farm loan waiver had been implemented only partially and that the Rythu Bharosa scheme had not been fully executed. He accused Congress of failing to fulfil the promises made during the elections.Kishan urged state ministers to visit districts and personally monitor paddy procurement operations. Highlighting the Centre’s support to farmers, he said the Centre was providing a subsidy of around ₹2,500 on each urea bag. He also criticised the state govt for not properly implementing the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana scheme.
