US Vice President JD Vance has now weighed in on the ongoing debate over immigration and work visas. Recently, Vance said that while many immigrants enrich America, what matters the most is that those who become citizens must prioritise their American identity above ties to their country of origin. He delivered these remakes at a Turning Point USA event in Georgia, come amid the administration’s crackdown on H-1B visas. In a video shared on social media platform X by news agency ANI, Vance can be seen acknowledging that immigrants, including his own Indian-origin in-laws, have made significant contributions to the United States. He noted that many who arrive on H-1B visas help strengthen the economy and society.
US Vice President also gave a warning on fraud and identity
At the same time, Vance also cautioned that the H-1B system has been plagued by fraud and misuse. He believes that the visa program only works if those who benefit from it ultimately embrace their role as Americans. “Citizenship should mean loyalty to the U.S. first,” he said, stressing that assimilation and national identity are central to immigration policy.
