He said, even a slight rise in humidity can increase the perceived heat and discomfort levels. “The combination of high day heat, elevated night temperatures, and increased humidity has led to these conditions, causing greater discomfort during both afternoons and nights,” he told TOI.Other typically hot cities lagged behind Goa, such as Nagpur (41°C, “feels like” 41.2°C), Chandigarh (38°C, “feels like” 39.1°C), Ahmedabad (41°C, “feels like” 40.5°C) and Delhi (37.6°C, “feels like” 41.3°C).The weather conditions are not likely to improve in the coming days, as the IMD has forecast maximum temperatures to be between 35-36°C, while minimum temperatures are forecast to be between 27-28°C.The IMD has issued an advisory warning of “moderate health concern” for vulnerable people such as infants, the elderly and people with chronic diseases. There is a possibility of dehydration besides heat cramps and heat rashes. The IMD has advised taking precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during peak hours of the day from 11am to 3pm.
